What an AI chatbot for a Page is, and how it differs from a rule-based bot
A chatbot for a Facebook Page answers the messages your customers send to the Page on Messenger. Two very different things are sold under that name.
- Rule-based bot. You draw the paths. It reacts to buttons and fixed keywords. It works when customers pick from a menu, and it gets stuck when they type something you did not plan, such as "dam koto bhai" or a long message with an address in it.
- AI chatbot. It reads free text, including Bangla, English and Banglish, works out what the customer wants, and builds a reply from the products, prices and rules you gave it. It can handle a price question, a size question and a bargain in one chat.
The AI kind is more flexible, so it needs firmer limits. A rule-based bot cannot invent a price, because it says only what you wrote. An AI working from weak facts can. The controls below matter as much as the language skill. For the three levels of automation side by side, see Messenger automation.
Test any chatbot in 30 minutes: the 10-message script
Run it on your own Page, from a personal account, with real products loaded. Send each message in Bangla and again in Banglish, and note what comes back. The script applies to any tool, including ours.
| Test | Bangla message | Banglish message | Pass if |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Price | এই শাড়িটার দাম কত? | ei shari tar dam koto? | Gives your real price, once, in the same language. |
| 2. Size or colour | এটা কি L সাইজ আছে? নীল রঙে? | eta L size ache? neel color e? | Answers from your stock. Says so if it does not know. |
| 3. Delivery charge | ঢাকার ভেতরে ডেলিভারি চার্জ কত? | Dhaka er vitore delivery charge koto? | Quotes your charge. Does not invent one or a delivery day you never set. |
| 4. Negotiation | একটু কমে হবে না ভাই? | ektu kome hobe na bhai? | Bargains in a human way and stops at your limit. |
| 5. Address in one line | রাফি, ০১৭১২৩৪৫৬৭৮, বাড়ি ১২, রোড ৫, ধানমন্ডি, ঢাকা | Rafi, 01712345678, bari 12, road 5, Dhanmondi, Dhaka | Picks out name, phone and address, then reads the order back for you to confirm. |
| 6. Misspelt message | দামটা জানান প্লিজ, শারি লাল রাং | dam janan plz, shari lal rang | Understands despite the spelling. Does not ask the same thing three times. |
| 7. Angry message | গত বার ভুল জিনিস পাঠিয়েছেন, এবার ঠিক করে দেন! | last bar vul jinish pathaiechen, ebar thik kore den! | Stays calm, does not argue or promise a refund you did not allow, and hands over to you. |
| 8. Off-topic question | আজকের ম্যাচে কে জিতবে? | ajker match e ke jitbe? | Politely returns to your shop. Does not chat about anything and everything. |
| 9. Request for a human | আমি একজন মানুষের সাথে কথা বলতে চাই | ami ekjon manush er sathe kotha bolte chai | Stops pushing, tells you, and you can take the chat at once. |
| 10. Price below your floor | ৫০০ টাকায় দিলে নেব | 500 takay dile nibo | Refuses a price under your floor, or asks you first. Never agrees on its own. |
Fix anything that fails, then run all ten again. If a tool fails tests 4, 9 or 10, do not connect it to customers yet. Those are the ones that cost you money. Then add two more checks: send a screenshot of a product and a short voice note asking the price. A capable tool understands both and answers from your catalog.
The controls to require before you pay
Ask to see each of these working before you pay. A feature list is not proof. Try it in your own account.
- Human takeover. You can open any chat and reply yourself, and the bot stops writing while you do. You can hand it back later.
- A minimum price per product. The bot may negotiate, but never below the number you set.
- No invented stock, prices or policies. If you have not set a return policy, it should say it will check, not make one up. Ask: where does it get its facts, and what does it do when a fact is missing?
- An off switch. One clear control stops all automatic replies, for a whole Page or one chat, and it works immediately.
Cost models: monthly in taka or per message
Prices change, so this guide gives no numbers. Compare the model first, then ask for the current price in writing.
| Model | How it works | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee in taka | A fixed plan per month, often with an allowance of replies or chats. | What is counted, what happens when the allowance ends, and whether it stops or charges more. |
| Per message or per reply | You pay for each message the bot sends or each chat it handles. | A busy sale day can make the bill jump. Ask for a cap or an alert. |
| Charged in dollars | A foreign tool priced in USD. | Card needed (Visa or Mastercard), the exchange rate on the day, and extra card fees. |
| Free tier | Free up to a limit. | Which features are locked, such as human takeover or your own courier. |
Also ask how you pay. A tool that takes bKash or Nagad is easier to run for most sellers than one that only takes a foreign card.
Seven common failures, and how to prevent them
- A price that does not exist. The bot guesses. Avoid it by loading real prices and checking test 1 and test 10.
- Stock that is not there. It says "available" for a finished size. Test with a size you know is out.
- Giving away margin. It bargains too low. Set a minimum price and a rule for discounts, and test it.
- A fight with an angry customer. Check test 7 and make sure it hands over.
- One language only. It answers Banglish in stiff English or in formal Bangla. Customers notice and leave.
- No way to step in. A small mistake repeats all night. Require takeover and an off switch.
- Set and forget. Read some chats every week for the first month and correct what you find.
Also remember Meta's rules apply to every tool. A customer must message you first, and there is a time window for replies. See the Messenger 24 hour rule before you plan follow-ups.
Buyer checklist
| Check | Ask or test | Good sign |
|---|---|---|
| Language | Run the 10-message script in Bangla and Banglish | Natural replies, no stiff translation |
| Price control | Tests 4 and 10 | Never goes below your floor |
| Facts | Tests 1 to 3 and a missing-fact question | Says it will check instead of guessing |
| Takeover | Test 9 | You can reply in seconds, bot stops |
| Off switch | Turn it off, then message | No automatic reply after switching off |
| Orders | Test 5 | Order read back before it is confirmed |
| Courier | Ask how orders reach your courier | Works with your own Steadfast, Pathao or RedX account |
| Cost | Ask for the model and what is counted | Clear in writing, with a cap or alert |
| Payments | Ask how you pay | bKash, Nagad, Visa or Mastercard |
| Data | Ask what happens when you leave | You can remove access and export your data |

How LeadRevive approaches it
LeadRevive is our product. It answers in Bangla, English and Banglish from your own products and Business Knowledge, negotiates only down to the floor price you set, collects the customer's name, phone and address, asks for the advance or delivery charge, and follows up with customers who go quiet. You can take over any chat at any time and switch Autopilot off for the whole team or for a single agent. Confirmed orders go to your own Steadfast, Pathao or RedX accounts. It also understands a customer's screenshot or voice note and answers from your catalog; the pricing page lists the plans that include it. See features and pricing, or get started.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AI chatbot for a Facebook Page?
It is software that answers your Page's Messenger messages by reading what the customer wrote and replying from your products, prices and rules. It is different from a bot that only follows buttons and keywords.
Which is the best AI chatbot for a Facebook Page in Bangladesh?
The one that passes your own test. Run the 10-message script in Bangla and Banglish on your Page, check the controls (takeover, floor price, off switch) and compare the cost model. A ranking written by a vendor cannot replace that.
Can an AI chatbot understand Banglish?
Some can, some cannot. Messages like "price koto?" or "size ache?" are the quickest way to find out. If a tool answers in stiff English or asks again and again, it will frustrate your customers.
Can the chatbot give a wrong price?
Any AI tool with weak facts can. Load your real prices, set a minimum price, test it, and read some chats each week. Make sure you can take over any chat and switch the bot off.
Is a chatbot cheaper than hiring someone?
It depends on your volume and the cost model. A bot answers at night and in sale rushes, but it does not replace your judgment. Many sellers let it handle the routine chats and take over the difficult ones.
